- Bonus Kampfgruppe von Luck 4-Figure Set
Cyber-Hobby announces another fantastic Orange Box combo featuring WWII German items from its popular 1/35 scale series. The set features a Jagdpanzer IV L/48 tank destroyer along with a suitable set of infantrymen. The first prototype of the Jagdpanzer IV was presented to the German Fuhrer in October 1943, with production eventually commencing the following January. Based on the chassis, running gear and drive train of the Panzer IV, this specialist tank hunter was low-slung and had well-sloped armor. Earlier models mounted a 7.5cm PaK39 L/48 gun. Dragon’s Jagdpanzer IV L/48 disappeared from retailers’ shelves a long time ago, so this release should be most welcome. The kit has been enhanced with DS Tracks, and decal markings are available for vehicles fighting on both the Western and Eastern Fronts.
The accompanying figure set represents Kampfgruppe von Luck. Oberst Hans von Luck of the 21st Panzer Division was involved in resisting the invasion of Normandy in June 1944. On 9 June, his command was designated Kampfgruppe von Luck and its first combat was against British paratroopers. His task force succeeded in stopping British and Canadian troops from advancing further inland until the Allies launched Operations Epsom and later Goodwood. His unit was instrumental in stopping the British 11th Armoured Division, before it was eventually consumed in the Falaise Pocket. The Jagdpanzer IV saw action with Kampfgruppe von Luck in the Normandy fighting, and so these four soldiers are a perfect accompaniment.
